MORNING PORTRAIT 18
MARTHA RUBY CLARK

martha ruby is an old friend, we hadn’t seen each other in years. she was recently accepted into NYU’s acting program. she filled me in on the details.
.
we often settle for comfort. if she’d done the easy thing, she wouldn’t be embarking on this new adventure. sure, it’s been challenging. but nothing worth doing is ever easy.
.
she dreams of being a bond girl. she wants to blog about new york street style and foodie spots. she wants to be paid to sit in the front row of a fashion show.
.
take chances and keep dreaming big.

.
she loves her eyes, they smile. you can always tell when she’s having a good time. they’re honest, and so is she. she learns from her experiences and actively betters herself.
.
loving yourself is taking care of yourself. it is recognizing the person you want to be and working for it. don’t get complacent in an unhealthy lifestyle.
.
ps, love your pup.

.
the industry teaches us to compare. martha ruby has seen this change the people around her. she tries to be a positive, to remind others that they’re beautiful.
.
work to change the way you see yourself, that’s the first step. then, if you want to change, do it. pursue a healthy self image and a healthy body. take ownership of who you are.
.
you can’t compare apples and oranges, they’re two different fruits. appreciate the fact that you’re suppose to be different.
